In this guide I will explain where to get addons, how to install the addons and what type of addons do what.
First things first. I will give some sites that are good for World of Warcraft addons. These sites are all trusted by most addon makers and addon users.
www.Curse.com

www.wowinterface.com
A few other sites for general WoW info.

How to install a(n) addon!
Step 1 - Find the addon you want to download / use. ( we will be download X-perl interface addon for the guide purpose )
Step 2 - Download the addon and save it to a place you will be able to find / get to easily. ( I usually save to my desktop or shared documents folder, but it is all up to you on that one )
Step 3 - Extract the zipped up addon. The addon should be zipped up. ( To unzip it i suggest using WinRar. Downloaded from WinRars website
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm )
Step 4 - The addon folder should look something like this
Step 5 - Open up your World of Warcraft folder. Once it is open you should see a folder called "Interface". Open that folder up. Inside your "Interface" folder there should be a folder called "Addons".
Step 6 - Take all the contents from the X-perl folder and drag them into the "Addons" folder.
Step 7 - Open up WoW and configure the addon so that it fits your likings. If you do not know how to do this, read the intstructions on from the place you downloaded the addons from. Or ask here at RPGFORUMS.COM

The addons in this guide are what I have used. There are many more, check out graedons addon list (
Graedon's mods ) or just check out the website for more.
On a final note- Yes I know there are MANY addons I have missed. But these are addons I HAVE TIRED AND LIKED. If I were to name all the addons on there the list would be endless. Here is a list of other addons you may want to look into, I wont be giving a description on these that is to detailed.
Ace addons. Their light weight and very very helpful.
Titan Panel - displays bags, xp needed to lvl, ammo, amount of +stats.
Auctioneer - Does exactly what the name says. It's an helpful auction addon that remembers prices and all that jazz.
Gatherer - Amazing ( or so I'm told ) for alchemy and mining
Huds ( Dhugs their also called ) - Show your life/mana/target life&mana in semi circle around your character.
Mortal Kombat SoundMod - Comical purpose only, other than that it's useless, but it's funny as hell.
Mailbox Complete - Just a mail helpful tool. If your a big auctioneer and you get mass mail coming in, this is for you!
KLHThreatMeter - The name expalins this, just shows who is holding the most threat in your party, most guilds that raid REQUIRE this addon, it's helpful for people who dps by the shit loads, making to much agro and the tank.
