A lot of people suspected there was something wrong with the kill of Yogg+0 by Exodus a few days ago. They were right and Exodus has been banned for exploiting a bug in this fight. Obviously, their kill has been removed from the Hall of Fame.

Offense: Abuse of Game Mechanics
Details: Circumvention of normal combat mechanics to defeat the Yogg-Saron encounter inside the Ulduar raid instance.

In our many attempts at trying to figure out a way to defeat Yogg zero watcher, we found a way to use bugged game mechanics to make phase 3 easier in zero watcher then one watcher.

The bug is when someone is left inside the brain room of Yogg-Saron, they can still get aggro on the adds that spawn in phase 3. That means if you have someone getting healing aggro in the brain room, they will get aggro on the adds, which cause them to evade in place and allows for all of your raids dps to be focused on Yogg.

We discovered this mechanic on a wipe, and decided to see if we could actually get it to work. The first attempt after that wipe, we realized it worked, and went with it and killed it on that attempt.

72 hour ban for an exploit. Awesome. Yet somehow Richie gets permabanned for no good reason.

I think it is kind of bullshit that people get banned for doing something that the designers fucked up on.

People have also been banned for doing the 4 player method of Flame Leviathan, although apparently they fixed it. The GM who banned them said, "The encounter is designed for 10 or 25 people, not less." What an idiotic statement. So then every achievement for doing an instance with less than the required people shouldn't be counted and those people should be banned too.

Like I said, just because they screwed up the design is no reason to ban people.

Yea I love how Ensidia have been crying about a US guild doing it with "Creative use of game mechanics" when they do it all the time. Fuck them and blizzard for having them in their pocket.

That kinda crap has always been a controvercial subject for me....really you could argue either way.

Did blizzard actually release a "how to beat this nukka" guide? or did they expect you to find a way on your own.....

if that's the case how did you know that wasn't the way to do it?


on the other hand....it seems almost obvious that it was the wrong way seeing as it made monsters do nothing.....

but then again, there are other encounters which you make monsters do nothing and it's the correct way of doing things.

Them being evade bugged was obviously NOT the way to do it but if they are going to ban them for it endsidia needs to get a few bans for some of the exploiting they have been patted on the back for.

Well lets be fair about it....

#1 Richie modified in game files to make his guild name appear "Bright Orange"...kinda kewl having a Orange guild named "Legendary"

#2 Lets not forget his lvl1 char on GM island. He may or maynot have modified in game files and hijacked a boat and changed the pathing to take him to GM island.

#3 Also, im sure using client side "things" to remove gates in UD strat would be something blizz frowns upon.

Ive seen him do this shit so it was only a matter of time before they caught up with him. I still remember when he used his lvl1 toon on GM island and ganked a AFK lvl60 GM toon.

hmmm, that's odd. richie and i used to talk quite often we even modded the diabloworld hacking section together
he has never mentioned to me that he was upset about anything. i don't remember it being his idea to make it anyway

that's from 2003. i have quite a few PMs still in my inbox from richie
one of them happens to be from 2005 where richie asked me if i still had the files i made that "mod" with
he wanted it so he would be ready for when 1.11 came out as this type of hack/mod works no matter if blizz patches the game or not

richie did name it as craphack though and wrote a install guide for it - dan wrote one too


or maybe you're joking about him saying that, in which case what i just wrote is trivia
