I have it downloaded, and i have 4 RL friends who are going to give it a go with me over summer.

Although 2 of them havent played DII and i've forgotten everything about ES

tesladin always works great
get zeus's belts as soon as possible and make gloves/boots on them
im thinking my tesladin was up to like 177k zeal when i was done with him
with a act5 offensive merc w/ izeals vice on i could solo anything in the game pretty easily(the act5 off CONSTANTLY does a warcry which is basically lower resist and gets rid of immunities)
i just maxed shock and synnergies and put pts into holy shield and zeal iirc but not sure 100%

i hear that light barbs are very high soloable as well

Sorry John but they suck now without godly gear. Best bet would be Immolation, Ice Nova or Charged Bolt Sorc, Strafer Bowa, or Light Barb.

I can help either way but Sunny said that if there isn't a new patch out by February, they will not host ES anymore which is bullshit..

I might make a CB sorc again, i had a pretty sexy one back when i last played.

I'm having some install issues though - when i install it do i make the destination folder 'blahblah/eastern sun' or 'blahblah/eastern sun/es300r'?

neither seem to work. the latter actually lets me run the launcher but then nothing happens.

Use the default location that it chooses and you have to have the disc inserted.

I might make a light sorc again. Have some gear and can get whatever I want lol. Too bad my friends quit with all my spare sorc gear..

er, the default location is "C:\Program Files\Diablo II\es300r\"

the folder i want ES in is "M:\Games\Games\Diablo II\Eastern Sun"

you've got me a little confused mate

edit: i run the shortcut, it comes up with the popups, backs up the files, then nothing else happens when i try running it again

Is Diablo 2 installed in the same directory? M:\Games\Games\Diablo II
I know it needs the game.exe from the lod folder to run correctly..

on my external, in the games folder, in the games subfolder, in the DII subfolder where i have ~4 copies of DII atm - the one i'm installing it into is named 'eastern sun'

it seemed to run fine on the first try at running the game, but after backing up the files, nothing happens.

Check to see if there is a game.exe running on your computer already. That could be why.

It's weird, i think it runs the backup bit of starting then forgets to run game.exe

i think i'll try a clean install of dii tomorrow - I've tried reinstalling ES 3-4 times and the same thing happens each time.
