Review: Resident Evil: Extinction
(SPOILER REVIEW)
If you dont want to know about the movie dont read
RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION
So where did we leave off in the second movie? Thats right Alice is jumping into a SUV and riding off even more enhanced then where she entered the umbrella corporation. It left us hanging, urging for the next installment of the franchise.
But of course, with following the movie trend, of movie sequals that don't seem to connect, fast forward 5 years..
WHAT? What the heck happened after she left? We may never know, Alice is now in the desert fighting off zombies and rabid canniness that have engulfed the world.
With the opening scene your sucked right back into the first movie, not knowing what is going on, whats around the corner? whats behind that door? Sadly with this installment of Resident Evil your going to have that feeling the entire time, normally thats not a bad thing but in this case, it leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth.
Resident Evil Extinction is a mixture of classic films such as Birds and Mad Max, it falls short of its franchise legacy Resident Evil.
The one thing it did live up to expectations was its action packed scenes, shorter then most would like but Alice comes back once again to get vingence and kill some zombie ass. Specially the telekinesis scene leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting more.
The movie does bring back some much needed Jump scenes, which was nice to have again, after the last installment Resident Evil: Apocalypse was just all about action and less about its video game roots, horror that makes you jump out of your skin.
The most Awaited scene of the entire movie after a small hint in a trailer was the final boss scene (Tyrant) which turned out to be a big let down, too short! YOUR KILLING US!
Just like with Nemesis he was built up and built up and then poof like a bottle rocket it was over. Designed well, the looks were perfect just like with Nemesis but all talk and no game. Maybe next time we will get what we are wanting, we can only hope.
Now wait a minute, last and final movie? Oh of course not! Why would they seal up a movie lets leave it open so we can spin it into another 5 directions after few more years down the line.
Of course the final scene of the movie we are dazzled again with a well designed and acted ending that promises a sequel.
In conclusion I gave Resident Evil: Extinction
1 Thumb up and 1 thumb down.
If you want to go see it, go see it. It's worth the 6 bucks..
