That process is very overblown. When I quit WoW, I basically researched/browsed WoW websites that buy accounts and/or characters and just gathered a bunch of quotes. The same day, I canceled the subscription, followed the process of selling the account, posted a thread on the guild forums and wala... $500 richer.
Oh, and it's not like I wasn't addicted. I was addicted pretty hardcore... almost fucked up my (then) future marriage and plans on actually graduating college. But one day I was able to snap out of the mold and realize, Holy shit, this game is f'ing me over. And quit.

I recently semi-quit because i got dumped by my girlfriend(who i played with) for flirting too much haha. Basically all i do is log in once in a while and wonder why the hell i even pay for the game anymore......it's not fun at all like it used to be.
I went out and found myself a freak, now i'm happy. I can talk dirty to her all i want to.

Sadly, the graph seems to be somewhat true, although I can only speak on behalf of what I've seen with WoW and Eve.
Eve is more of a MMO massive strategy game, so it takes a while to do anything, but an interesting game nonetheless. Sadly, it's probably not for me, and it's also one of those P2P games as well. |

what? i totally quit driving because i have to pay for licence plates, insurance that doesn't actually do anything for me(litterally), registration, and licence renewals.....oh, not to mention gas....GOSH that shit costs a lot.....
